Neuseeländer im Supermarkt, Kolumbianer in der Pizzaria, Mexikaner bei Schlecker – gewöhnt ist man in der Kleinstadt Geisingen schon viel Internationalität, die 13 Venezuelaner, die hier 4 Wochen lang zu Gast waren, gehörten am Ende ihres Aufenthalts schon fast zum arena Ambiente.

In Venezuela, wo der Speedskatingsport fast Nationalsport ist und ähnliches Ansehen wie in Kolumbien genießt, werden die jungen Sportler gut gefördert und unterstützt, um in der Weltspitze zu bestehen. Namhafte Sportler, wie Juan Jardine, der schon verschiedene Medaillen bei den Weltmeisterschaften für seine Nation holte, oder Solymar Vivas, die Weltmeisterin über 200m 2010 in Guarne, nutzten die tollen Trainingsbedingungen in der arena, um ihrer Form noch den Feinschliff zu geben. Mit großen Spaß, viel Lachen, die eine oder andere Tanzeinlage ihres Coaches Francisco Fuentes, tollem Teamgeist und einem schier unermäßlichen Trainingseifer, absolvierten die Sportler ein unglaubliches Trainingsprogramm.

Das arena Team bedankt sich für eine fröhliche, nette und tolle Zeit mit dem Venezuelanischen Team – Alejandro Silva, Jessika Estevez,Leonard Munoz, Breiner Flores, Enrique Flores, Juan Jardine, William Rojas, Nelver Molero, Daniela Escalona, Solymar Vivas, Sandra Buelvas und Coach Francisco Fuentes und Juan Jose Gonzales (Secretario Gerneral Federacion Venezolana de Pantinaje).

One Month HOLA in the arena geisingen!

New Zealanders in the supermarket, Colombians in the Pizzeria, and Mexicans in Schlecker – the small town of Geisingen is quickly becoming very international. The 13 Venezuelans who have been staying in Geisingen for the last four weeks have contributed a lot to the arena ambiance.

In Venezuela, where Speed skating is a national sport, the athletes enjoy a similar prestige to top athletes from Colombia, where they are well supported and well-funded so they can be the best in the sport.

Known athletes such as Juan Jardine who has won a variety of Medals at the World championships for his country.  Or Sandra Buelvas who was the silver medallist in the 200m at the 2010 World championships in Guarne Colombia, are using the training facilities in the arena geisingen to give them the extra finesse that an athlete needs.  With lots of fun and laughing their team coach Francisco provides a great team spirit and an incredible trainings programme.

Something special!! Sandra Buelvas who was the bronze medal winner in the 300m at the 2010 World championships achieved a new best time in the 200m Dobbin sprint in the arena geisingen! Making a new unofficial world record.
